I wrote over 150 monthly articles back in the 1970s and 1980s, covering subjects from boomerangs to lemon meringue pies to aikido. Here is my article about how to use an inexpensive diffraction grating to photograph the spectra of various lamps, including streetlamps. The colors that are emitted can be examined in terms of the quantum mechanics of the atoms.
